Citizens Advice sees over 2 million people nationwide each year, with a variety of different kinds of problems. We can use carefully collected evidence to show public services such as local councils, right up to big organisations and the government, how they can help make things better for people.
We use our local data and wider research to understand the problems our communities are facing and to identify the underlying causes. We make recommendations on how to tackle these causes, both locally and nationwide, to make positive differences in people’s lives.
We use our insight into the wide variety of different problems people face to campaign to make things better for people across Braintree, Halstead & Witham. Our unique insight into the challenges faced by our local community can help our local councils to understand local issues and make the best possible decisions for people across the district.
Our recent local campaigns include:
The Council Tax Rebate – using our social media to raise awareness of how eligible people across the Braintree District can claim their rebate, as well as raising awareness of scams and support services available. May 2022
The Cost of Living Crisis – making sure people across Braintree District have access to benefits, resources and any other financial support made available. March 2022 onwards
